If you’ve come to this page, you must be a little bored. So I’ll try to keep this entertaining. My name is Jordy. For real–on my birth certificate and everything.

No, not this guy.

I was the quintessential kid with his face in a book. I loved reading. And, like a lot of kids who grew up in the 90’s, I was weaned on shows like Batman the Animated Series and X-Men.

But, growing up in a small West Texas town also meant that I had limited access to comics. I was able to occasionally find comics at the public library, but then it was a matter of understanding where they fit because of continuity AND having no idea if they were any good. So, mostly, I just stuck to the movies, video-games and after-school TV that featured the crazy characters in awesome costumes.

I’ve spent the last six or so years making up for lost time. Using the fantastic reading list found at Comic Book Reading Orders, I’ve been reading just about everything I found interested from DC Comics since the Crisis on Infinite Earths. It’s been a crazy trip and I’ve loved it. I’ve still got plenty of love for Marvel, Image, and pretty much anything else that’s quality work–but I loves me some Batman, Justice Society, and Animal Man like no-one’s business.

By day, I’m a software developer (no opinions, no matter how excellently argued and obviously correct they are, on this site have any reflection on my employers), a sometimes-theatre-artist, a writer, and a guy-who’s-thinking-of-making-a-podcast.

I’ve got a fantastic wife who, while not being into comics, totally supports my indulgence. And a dog who may or may not have been involved with the Bay of Pigs Invasion. Can’t seem to get a straight story out of him.
